Dec 18 - Nadag

We get a lot of questions about the Field Manager Nadag integration, so we thought we would dedicate one of the Christmas calendar posts for this topic.

As you all know, the law states that all ground investigation data gathered after 1.1.2025 has to be reported to Nadag. However, the actual deadline for registering the data into Nadag is 3 months after the Nadag data API is ready in production. This is because there are essentially no effective ways of reporting data today.

The Field Manager team has been working together with NGU since the spring with testing the API and we are now looking forward to seeing this become a reality. Our plan is that you as a user should have a simple and seamless way of reporting data and documents from Field Manager where you have a good overview of reporting status on your projects. This will be be finished in time for the for the delivery deadline.

Dec 17 - API Tools

All your organization's data is accessible through the Field Manager API. This allows you and your organization to develop your own applications for reporting, analysis, interpretation, and more.

We have already created some small tools which are free to use, these are available under "API Tools."

Dec 16 - User-centric development

At the Field Manager team, our priority is solving real problems for our users. We identify these needs through multiple channels—user meetings, direct user feedback, demos, interviews, interaction on conferences etc.

When developing a new feature, we start by defining it as a MVP – Minimum Viable Product. This means creating the simplest solution that addresses the core need, and then we are planning for future improvements in a later stage. The first step for a MVP is building a prototype and sharing it with a selection of users for feedback before finalizing the design and moving into development.

Dec 12 - Dashboard

How many times have you been asked for a progress update on field investigations or laboratory tests? With our new Dashboard feature, you can now easily keep track of this and share it directly with your client. 📊✨

The dashboard shows not only how many methods have each status, but also the status distribution at the method level, for both field investigations and lab tests. You can, of course, filter by the different statuses as needed. 🔍

We’ve also added status information for lab tests inside the Lab Manager page.

Dec 11 - Lab results

More lab videos: All data imported into Field Manager is available under “Lab Manager”. Here the data is organized by test type, and you can filter and sort by location, sample name, result, and more. 📊🔍

Remember that all of this data is also available through our API, making it easy to build your own functionality to retrieve and reuse the data.

Dec 10 - Import PRV and AGS

Over the past few days, we’ve shown how you can view locations with lab data and how the new lab data features work inside Field Manager. But how do you actually get the data into Field Manager?

As of today, you can import lab data using either *.PRV or *.AGS files, and in today’s video we show exactly how the import works. 🧪📥

A dedicated import format for Field Manager will also be introduced soon, as the current formats are not ideal for lab data workflows.

Dec 9 - Find lab tests in map!

Yesterday we showed how lab data is now integrated into Field Manager. Today’s video highlights another useful addition: a dedicated lab symbol you can turn on in the map. 🔍🧪

This makes it easy to see which locations have lab data available and what status those data sets have — giving you a clearer overview and faster workflows. 🚀

Dec 8 - Lab Index Visualization

Big release of new feature! There will be several lab related releases this week, with release notes as part of these announcements. First out:

You can now view lab results directly in Field Manager. 🧪

By importing either *.PRV or *.AGS files, lab results can be brought into Field Manager. The results are displayed in the new tab called “Lab Index,” where you can also compare lab data with the results from the soundings at the same location. 📊

Values are shown when you hover over a result, and if you add a line, you will see all results at that depth. We have also made it possible to view shear strength results from cone, uniaxial, and vane tests on a log scale, making it easier to study details whether remolded strength indicates quick clay. 📉

An open file format for importing lab data into Field Manager will be introduced soon, as the PRV format commonly used today is highly limiting and significantly reduces the data quality of lab results. 💡

Dec 5 - Linked Projects

Linked projects make it easy to bring data into your project from other projects you have access to in Field Manager, without needing to copy anything manually. 🔗

The locations you load from linked projects do not only appear on the map; you can also view results 📊, see additional information such as images and files 📁, include them in your drilling plan 🗺️, and export the data when generating cross sections. 📐
