MAP LAYOUTS:

Huge feature release today! Map Layouts is our automation of creating a bore plan/site investigation plan. Click the new "Layouts"  button and follow the steps. The feature is still in Beta, and we will be collecting feedback for a while before we decide on further improvements. Here are a few highlights:

• Make adjustments in the map to make sure it reflects the intended view to be exported 
• Filter locations as needed 
• Choose a background map  
• Toggle status on/off  
• Show or hide details for the methods  
• Create a Map View by clicking the "Layouts"-button  
• Drag the rectangle to the intended position  
• Adjust rotation either directly in the map, or by input 
• Choose between the preset scales
• Export Map Layout to PDF:
  • Input Revision or Draft details
  •  Report number
  • Client name
  • Description
  • Drawn by, Controlled by, Approved by  
  • Revision or draft
• Choose export options:
  • PDF language: English or Norwegian
  • Resolution: Low, Normal or High (will affect the size of the method symbols)
  • Date format
  • Show or hide the status information in the legend
• Export PDF and download to your computer

Fix 

• Fix a problem with the static plots due to upgrading of a plotting library. Now downgrading to an earlier version.  The problem was that icons for TOT/CPT was not aligned properly when exporting to pdf and also the scale could be wrong. The error was instroduced in the previous version that was deployed 2024-04-24 17:00 (yesterday).

Fix 

• Fix the feature flag for the use of either the legacy or new SGF parser.  The new parser has inadvertently been on in production since 2024-04-18. Detected a problem with the new parser now, and we will turn off the new parser with this release.
• Fix a bug with bulk update of method status, that would remove any tags on the method's locations.

Back-end version 4.3.38

We just upgraded our comments feature to location level! Now you can leave comments both on the location as a whole as well as on a specific method. 

• 📢 Add as many comments as you want, making it possible to have conversations with projects members and rig operators directly in Field Manager.
• 📜 Log with name, date and time on each comment.
• ✏ Multiline comments for more detailed information.

Known limitations: Comments on location level is not available in mobile view yet.

• We updated the Force axis for TOT and RP soundings to better match the NGF guidelines. 
• Error handling in `GET /method_types/{method_type_id}` endpoint

• Fixed a bug related to users not being able to export KML/KMZ files

• Problem loading CSV and Excel files where all location names were numeric.

New Swedish methods added

• Soil-Rock Sounding (SRS) data model and import support for SGF and SND files. The imported data is not shown in any way yet, but we are working on it.
• Dynamic Probing (DP) as a placeholder.
• Weight Sounding Test (WST) as a placeholder.

Users have asked how we can create better communication in a project, reducing the amount of emails. Our answer is improving the comments feature for methods. We're also added some new basemaps that we think you will like. 

 Comments conversation:  

• You can now add multiple comments on the same method, making it possible to have a conversation with team members and rig operators directly in Field Manager
• Log with name, date and time on each comment
• Multi-line comments for more detailed information

 New Basemaps:

• Norway topographic
• Norway topographic grayscale

Fix 

• Problem with import SND files and bedrock detection. Previously, if multiple comment codes were present on a single data row, some codes could be overwritten and lost. We now prioritize the codes in the range 40 - 43 and St, F, B1 and B2 before other codes like S1, Y2, etc. 
• Fix a problem with not updating the method stop code for CPT, TOT and RP reading SND files.
• Fix missing stop code writing a CPT method to SND file.

Fix 

• Allow uploading .VB files, GeoSuite Shear Vane Test (SVT), on the project level.
